OLLI 355F - Adv. Explorations in Painting

Course Description

This nine week course is comprised of three full-day workshops, open studio sessions, independent and group work, in person and online. Develop a deep understanding of concepts and a greater facility of techniques in painting and mixed media. Students are encouraged to explore medium(s) of their preference. A variety of exciting projects will inspire the creative spirit and teach methods for making successful paintings and drawings. Three in-person workshops: morning session comprised of PowerPoint lecture plus instruction and/or critique; afternoon session comprised of demonstrations and one-on-one instruction which will direct individual work during the time in between meetings. Throughout the course, the class will share and discuss work through the university online instruction platform, Canvas.
