Course Description

As world language teachers, we are tasked to cover a wide breadth of content. We are called to assess and facilitate learning for students on the following: communication, comparisons, connections, cultures, communities, and intercultural competence. Due to the ever-changing landscape of the educational field, we need to sustain and maximize the students? engagement to ensure that they are growing successfully in becoming lifelong learners. This course is designed to support world language educators in their growth, guiding in the areas of belonging, equity, and interculturality. This includes training on how to be culturally responsive in the classroom, engaging in continuous reflective learning, understanding the importance of representation in the curriculum and classroom, utilizing various student-centered approaches, and nurturing teacher advocacy in and outside of the classroom.
