Course Description

When one advances into the role of leader, there will be times that the individual is pushed into the limelight. As that time approaches, we should be prepared to show that we are strong in our foundation, have assesses challenges in order to be prepared to respond with proper solutions, know our stakeholders, and have the company's best interest at the forefront at all times. This course integrates traditional and contemporary theories in the study of leadership. The focus will be upon applying theory to practical situations that produces the effective use of communication and leadership development skills. Specific areas of discussion will be delegation, facilitation, and responsibility. The course will be taught with experiential learning techniques so that students will explore the specifics of a particular topic as well as key points about their own strengths and weaknesses. Each topic will be presented as opportunities for "AHA" moments in an effort to foster an environment that allows experienced based learning.
