Course Description

Part One of this course introduces the key management issues for non-profit organizations. You will be exposed to the latest thinking about fundraising, board and volunteer development, budgeting, marketing, and strategic direction for the nonprofit sector. Through the use of selected readings, video interviews, presentations and interactive exercises, this two-credit course explores non-profit management and the latest trends and developments in the non-profit world. Successful completion of this course provides the necessary context in non-profit management to prepare you for A Day at the Museum: Part Two - The Courtney Museum Simulation, which is designed to challenge and engage participants while exploring key real-world leadership issues confronted by non-profit managers.
