The Vietnam War ushered in an era of immense suffering throughout Southwest Asia, leading to the displacement of millions of refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. As the communists found their champions in the Viet Cong, Khmer Rouge, and Pathet Lao, those who favored the west were forced to flee for their lives.
